2-Year-Old Nearly Drowns After Allegedly Being Left Home Alone: Alabama Mother Arrested
A quiet evening at an Alabama apartment complex suddenly turned into a life-or-death emergency when a 2-year-old child was found in a swimming pool.
The child was discovered on Monday, Oct. 5, at an apartment complex in Hoover, Alabama, after two Good Samaritans noticed what was happening and immediately rushed to help.

They pulled the toddler from the water and began performing CPR.
Their quick actions may have saved the child’s life.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the boy regained consciousness before emergency crews arrived. He was transported to Children’s Hospital and remained alert while receiving medical care and monitoring.
But investigators soon turned their attention to what happened before the child entered the pool.
Authorities said the boy’s 3-year-old sister was also in the pool area at the time. During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned that the children had allegedly been left without adult supervision.
The children’s mother, identified as 25-year-old Tatiana Sade Hurst, later returned to the residence and was interviewed by investigators.
She was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

Hurst is facing charges including aggravated child abuse involving serious injury, two counts of child neglect and two counts of family abandonment, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. She remains in the Jefferson County Jail with a $174,000 bond.
The most striking part of the case may be how quickly the situation could have ended differently.

A child who was suddenly in danger in a swimming pool was noticed by people who were not family members. Those bystanders acted immediately, performing CPR until first responders arrived.
Officials praised the Good Samaritans, saying their actions could have made the difference between life and death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly detailed how long the children were allegedly without adult supervision.
For now, the toddler has survived the frightening incident and remains under medical observation.
The case also serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly a swimming pool can become dangerous for a young child.
A few seconds can change everything.
