Australian Man Charged with Murder After Twin Brother Is Found Dead in Backyard

A disturbing discovery at a family home in Western Australia has led to a murder charge against a 29-year-old man, after a relative reportedly found his twin brother dead in the backyard.
Police were called to a property in Orelia, a suburb south of Perth, on October 8, 2026, after a family member raised concerns about the brothers’ welfare. When officers arrived, they discovered the body of a 29-year-old man in the backyard.
The victim’s twin brother, Ashley Bruno Grillo, was arrested at the scene and later charged with one count of murder, according to Australian authorities.
Investigators said the victim had visible injuries. Police are treating the case as a suspected family violence homicide, and forensic officers have been examining the property as they work to establish what happened.
Authorities also seized several blades from the home for forensic examination to determine whether they may be connected to the death.
Grillo appeared in court by telephone from Fiona Stanley Hospital, where he was being held amid significant concerns about his mental health. Prosecutors told the court that arrangements were being made to transfer him to a forensic mental health facility.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on October 16.
The case has deeply affected the family and the local community. Western Australian officials described the incident as shocking and confirmed that support was being provided to the family.
Although a murder charge has been filed, the investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Grillo have yet to be determined by a court.
For investigators, the immediate priority is to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and determine what took place inside the family home before police arrived.
