Father and Two Young Children Found Dead in Florida Home After Neighbor’s Camera Captures Man Pacing Outside

A mother in Florida made a heartbreaking discovery after going to her former partner’s home to check on their two young children who had missed school. Inside, she found all three family members dead in a case police are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide.

The children, 7-year-old Remy Dingwall and 5-year-old Aria Dingwall, were found dead alongside their 37-year-old father, Joseph Dingwall, at his home in Cocoa, Florida, on October 7, 2026, according to PEOPLE.

Their mother, Olivia Piccolo, reportedly went to the residence after she was unable to reach the children and became concerned when they did not attend school. When she arrived, she noticed that the door was ajar. She then discovered the bodies and called 911.

Investigators believe Joseph was responsible for the children’s deaths before taking his own life. Police said evidence at the scene pointed toward an apparent murder-suicide, although the circumstances surrounding the tragedy remain under investigation.

The case took another unsettling turn when a neighbor reported hearing gunshots around midnight the night before the bodies were discovered. Surveillance footage from a nearby home reportedly showed a man leaving the residence and pacing in circles outside before going back inside.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the person seen in the footage was Joseph.

As the investigation continues, loved ones are remembering the children for their individual personalities and the close bond they shared. Remy was described as intelligent, kind and protective of his younger sister. Aria was remembered as bright, courageous and compassionate, with a love of animals and the color pink.

In a tribute shared by relatives, the siblings were described as best friends who meant the world to each other. Their family is now facing the devastating loss while fundraisers have been established to support their mother.

Police have not publicly confirmed a motive for the deaths. The investigation remains ongoing.
