Meet the Teenager Who Can Add 200 Numbers in Just Over a Minute Without a Calculator

At just 14 years old, Aaryan Shukla from India was already astonishing audiences around the world with a remarkable ability to solve complex mathematical problems entirely in his head. Nicknamed the “Human Calculator,” the teenager made headlines in March 2025 after setting six Guinness World Records in mental mathematics in a single day.

One of his most impressive achievements was mentally adding 200 four-digit numbers in just 1 minute and 9.68 seconds. He also broke records involving addition, multiplication and division, demonstrating a level of speed and accuracy that few people can match.

His achievements were officially recognized by Guinness World Records following a series of challenges held in Dubai in December 2024.

Six Records in a Single Day

Aaryan’s record-breaking performance included several extraordinary calculations. He mentally added 100 four-digit numbers in 30.9 seconds and added 50 five-digit numbers in just 18.71 seconds.

He also divided a 20-digit number by a 10-digit number in a series of calculations completed in 5 minutes and 42 seconds. In addition, he multiplied sets of large numbers at remarkable speed, including two eight-digit numbers.

These were not simply demonstrations of quick arithmetic. Each challenge required intense concentration, precision and the ability to process long sequences of numbers without writing them down or using a calculator.

Hours of Practice Behind His Talent

Although Aaryan’s abilities may seem almost impossible, he credits consistent practice as an important part of his success. He told Guinness World Records that he typically practises mental calculations for five to six hours a day when preparing for competitions.

His interest in numbers began when he was six years old. By the age of eight, he was already participating in international competitions and winning medals.

Despite his demanding schedule, Aaryan also makes time for school, reading, video games and cricket. He says Sahaja Yoga meditation helps him stay calm and focused.

Interestingly, Aaryan admits that he cannot fully explain what happens in his mind while calculating at such extraordinary speed. The process, he says, happens so quickly that he simply performs the calculations.

A Young Mind With Big Ambitions

Aaryan’s parents have supported his passion while emphasizing the importance of balance, ensuring that his pursuit of records does not overwhelm his childhood.

His achievements have also given him opportunities to travel internationally and meet other mental-mathematics enthusiasts. He became a world champion and a founding board member of the Global Mental Calculators Association.

For Aaryan, the records are more than impressive numbers on a certificate. They represent years of dedication to a skill he genuinely enjoys—and a journey that may only be beginning.
