“I’m About to Go Kill This Kid”: Chilling 911 Call Reveals Father’s Words Before He Rushed Into His Daughters’ School

A newly released 911 recording has captured the frantic moments Kaylub Giamanco called emergency services after spotting an armed teenager at his daughters’ elementary school in Oregon.
The 36-year-old father was driving home for lunch on October 15 when he noticed the gunman approaching Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend. His two daughters were inside the building.
“Oh my God! Someone’s at my daughter’s school with a gun. I have a gun, and I will shoot them right now if I have to,” Giamanco told the dispatcher in the recording.
The operator urged him not to intervene and asked him to explain what was happening while officers were being sent to the scene. But Giamanco became increasingly frantic as he watched the situation unfold.
“Silver Rail Elementary!” he shouted, repeatedly identifying the school.
When the dispatcher asked whether he knew the armed person, Giamanco replied that he did not. He then warned that the teenager was entering the building.
“This is my daughter’s school. I’m about to go kill this kid!” he said.
Moments later, Giamanco told the dispatcher that people were being shot. When asked whether the attacker was firing, he answered: “Yeah, he’s shooting.”
The call lasted just over a minute and ended as Giamanco moved toward the school.
The October 15 attack left three children, aged 5, 8 and 11, and a 25-year-old teacher dead. Another student and a teacher were also seriously injured.
The 16-year-old gunman, identified as Griffin J. John II, had forced his way into the school with a shotgun. Inside a classroom, teacher Cassidy Schutz attempted to stop him, throwing her phone at the attacker and struggling with him over the weapon.
Giamanco entered through an open window and reached the classroom. He later said Schutz’s actions gave him an opportunity to confront the gunman. He fired his handgun, killing the teenager and bringing the attack to an end.
After the shooting, Giamanco expressed deep regret that he had not arrived sooner and could not save everyone. He described feeling as though he had been the last line of defense between the attacker and the remaining children.
The newly released recording offers a disturbing glimpse into the seconds when a father realized his daughters’ school was under attack and made the decision to intervene.

Giamanco’s daughters survived, but the tragedy left several families grieving and an entire school community struggling with the aftermath.
