Two Men Arrested in Washington DC Homicide Nearly Two Months After 23-Year-Old Was Killed

Nearly two months after a 23-year-old man was fatally shot in Northwest Washington, D.C., police have arrested two men and charged them with first-degree murder while armed.

The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrests on September 30, following an investigation into the death of Xavier Fogle.

Police Found Fogle After Early-Morning Gunfire

Police were called to the 2600 block of 15th Street Northwest at about 4:25 a.m. on August 4 after receiving reports of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found Fogle suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded, but Fogle showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later identified him as a 23-year-old resident of Northwest Washington.

Two Suspects Arrested on September 30

Investigators continued working on the case for almost two months before obtaining arrest warrants through the D.C. Superior Court.

On September 30, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 46-year-old Tim McCrae and 48-year-old Henry Buchanan. Both men are from Northwest Washington, according to police.

Each suspect has been charged with first-degree murder while armed, with prosecutors alleging that the killing was premeditated.

The Investigation Took Nearly Two Months

The arrests mark a significant development in an investigation that began with a fatal shooting in the early hours of August 4.

Police did not publicly release details about what investigators believe happened before the shooting or explain a possible motive in their September 30 announcement.

Authorities also did not disclose the specific evidence that led to the arrest warrants.

Police Continue to Seek Information

The Metropolitan Police Department has asked anyone with information about the homicide to contact investigators.

The case remains active as the two defendants move through the court process. The murder charges are allegations, and the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

For Fogle’s family and those close to him, the arrests represent a new development nearly eight weeks after his death.
