Firefighters Rescue Dog From Deep Well in Goa During Nighttime Operation
Firefighters in Goa, India, carried out a nighttime rescue after a dog fell into a deep well and became trapped at the bottom.
The incident happened on September 29 in Lima Wado, Carona, Aldona, in North Goa. Fire personnel from Mapusa Fire Station responded after receiving information that the animal was trapped inside the well.
A Difficult Rescue After Dark
The rescue took place at night, making the operation more challenging for the firefighters. The team had to carefully reach the animal inside the deep well while working in limited visibility.
Fire personnel worked together to safely approach the frightened dog and secure it for removal.
The Dog Is Safely Brought Out
After approximately 45 minutes, the rescue team successfully lifted the dog out of the well.
The animal was brought back to the surface without suffering further harm, according to footage distributed through Reuters Connect by Spectee.

A Rescue That Happened Away From the Spotlight
Rescues involving animals trapped in wells can require careful planning because rescuers themselves can be placed at risk when entering or working around deep, confined spaces.
In this case, the Mapusa firefighters were able to complete the operation safely and return the dog to the surface after nearly an hour of work.
Helping Animals in Emergencies
Fire departments are often called to situations involving more than fires and human emergencies. Animals can become trapped in wells, drains, canals and other dangerous locations where ordinary members of the public cannot safely reach them.
For this dog in Goa, the nighttime operation ended with the animal safely out of the well and away from danger.
