Nearly 300 Dogs Make History at a Record-Breaking Pool Party in Las Vegas

A water park in Las Vegas became the scene of an unusual world record on September 27, when 296 dogs gathered for a giant pool party.

The event, called Doodlepalooza 2026, brought together poodle mixes and their owners at Cowabunga Canyon Vegas during National Dog Week. A Guinness World Records adjudicator was present to verify the final number.

A New Record in the Water

The 296 dogs surpassed the previous Guinness World Records mark for the most dogs attending a dog pool party. That record had been set earlier in 2026, when 276 dogs gathered at a pet event in Coral Gables, Florida.

The dogs at Doodlepalooza were able to enjoy the water park’s wave pool, splash pad and shallow-water areas while their owners watched and joined in the celebration.

A Day Built Around Dogs

The event was more than a record attempt. Organizers created the gathering as a community celebration for families and their pets.

Hundreds of dog owners traveled to the water park with their pets, creating an unusual sight as dogs of different sizes and appearances gathered around the pools.

The Record Also Supported Animal Rescue

Doodlepalooza was organized with support for Doodle Rescue USA, a nonprofit organization that works with poodle mixes and other dogs in need of rescue, rehabilitation and permanent homes.

Funds from the event were intended to support services including veterinary care, grooming, transportation, foster placements and adoption programs.

A Record With a Bigger Purpose

For organizers, the unusual world record provided an opportunity to bring dog owners together while drawing attention to animals that still need homes.

The event showed how a lighthearted community gathering can also become a way to raise awareness and support animal welfare.

296 Dogs, One Giant Celebration

By the end of the day, Doodlepalooza had created a new record and brought hundreds of dogs and their families together for an afternoon of swimming and play.

What began as a giant dog pool party ultimately became a memorable event combining entertainment, community spirit and support for animal rescue.
