Father and 4-Year-Old Son Found Dead After Missing Custody Exchange Sparks Amber Alert
Father and 4-Year-Old Son Found Dead After Missing Custody Exchange Triggers Amber Alert

A search for a missing Oklahoma father and his 4-year-old son ended in tragedy after authorities discovered both of them dead in Texas, days after the father failed to appear for a scheduled custody exchange.
Caleb Furley, 25, and his son, Andres “Harry” Furley, were last reported seen together in Norman, Oklahoma, on the evening of October 11, 2026. When the father did not arrive for the planned exchange with the boy’s mother, authorities issued an Amber Alert and began searching for the pair.
What initially appeared to be a missing-person case soon took a devastating turn.
Amber Alert Issued for Father and Son
According to authorities, investigators had concerns about the child’s welfare and issued a warrant for Caleb Furley’s arrest on suspicion of parental kidnapping.
Officials shared a description of the vehicle the pair might be traveling in and asked the public to help locate them. At the time, authorities had not confirmed where the father and son had gone.
The search continued across state lines as investigators worked to establish their movements.
A Relative’s Tip Led Police to Surveillance Footage
On October 14, police in Gainesville, Texas, received information from a relative who reported seeing a man and child at a local business earlier in the week. The relative described the encounter as suspicious and contacted authorities.
An officer later reviewed surveillance footage from the business. Investigators said the footage appeared to show the missing father and son walking away from the area.
Police searched nearby and subsequently discovered the bodies of a man and a child. Authorities said the pair had been reported missing from Norman and were the subjects of the Amber Alert.
Investigation Continues as Family Seeks Answers
Authorities have not publicly disclosed the cause or circumstances of the deaths. The Gainesville Police Department said the investigation remained active, with the Texas Department of Public Safety Rangers assisting.
The discovery has left the families involved facing an unimaginable loss. What began with a missed custody exchange and an urgent search for a young child ended with the recovery of two bodies, leaving investigators with further questions to answer.
Until officials release additional findings, the circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unconfirmed.
