Florida Man Accused of Running Over Foot Model After Bizarre First Meeting

A first meeting arranged through a dating app allegedly turned violent at a Florida hotel after a man made an unusual request that left a woman feeling uncomfortable.
According to police reports cited by the New York Post, 28-year-old Elmoncy Sercle met a woman who worked as a foot model at the Serena Hotel in Aventura, Florida, on August 24, 2025. The woman said they had arranged to meet so she could sell him a pair of used sneakers.
During the encounter, Sercle allegedly asked to smell her feet and purchase her worn shoes. The woman reportedly said the sneakers would cost $1,000, but the two did not reach an agreement.
When the woman went to the bathroom, she said Sercle left the room unexpectedly. Suspecting that he might have taken something, she followed him to the parking area.
According to the arrest affidavit, Sercle was driving a red Mercedes SUV when he allegedly struck her with the vehicle before leaving the scene. The woman suffered bruising and road rash and required medical attention.
Authorities later arrested Sercle after he reportedly attempted to book another room at the same hotel. He was charged with aggravated battery and pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.

The woman, who chose not to reveal her identity publicly, said she had never experienced an incident like this before. The case serves as a reminder of how quickly an unfamiliar meeting can take an unexpected and dangerous turn.
