Man Who Shot Police Officer With a Crossbow Jailed After Violent Hunt in England

Man Who Hunted Down Police Officer With a Crossbow Jailed for Nine Years

A man who stabbed a neighbour and then pursued police officers with a crossbow has been sentenced to nine years in prison in England.

Jason King, 55, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court in August 2025 following a violent incident in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on May 10, 2024.

According to court proceedings, the confrontation began with a dispute involving his neighbour, Alistair Mahwuto, who was stabbed during the altercation. When police arrived, King fired a crossbow from an upstairs window toward officers before coming outside and continuing the attack.

One officer, PC Curtis Foster, was struck in the leg by a crossbow bolt as he tried to escape. The injury caused significant bleeding and came close to a major artery. Foster later made a full recovery.

King continued to pose a threat, prompting armed officers to confront him. After he refused to put down the weapon, an officer shot him in the abdomen to stop the danger.

The court heard that the incident was partly driven by resentment toward his neighbours and police. King pleaded guilty to several offences connected to the attack.

He received a nine-year prison sentence, followed by three years on extended licence. The case also highlighted the risks officers face when responding to violent disputes and how quickly such incidents can escalate.
