Nathaly Ramirez Dies After Bronx Balcony Fall, 8-Month-Old Baby Survives
8-Month-Old Baby Survives 15-Story Bronx Fall as Police Search for Suspect
An 8-month-old baby girl is recovering in a New York City hospital after surviving a devastating fall from a 15th-floor apartment balcony in the Bronx.
The child was with her 23-year-old mother, Nathaly Ramirez, when the two were allegedly pushed from the balcony early Tuesday morning, according to the NYPD.
A Tragic Fall in the Bronx
Police responded to an apartment building in the Allerton section of the Bronx shortly after 3:30 a.m. on October 6 after receiving reports of two people who had fallen.
Officers found Ramirez and her infant daughter outside the building with injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated location.
Ramirez was taken to the hospital but later died from her injuries. Her daughter was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities later said their investigation indicated that the mother and baby had been pushed from the balcony. Ramirez’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

Baby’s Condition Improves
Despite the severity of the fall, the baby survived.
According to the latest reports, the infant’s condition has improved from critical to stable. Investigators believe the way Ramirez was holding her daughter may have helped cushion some of the impact.
The baby’s recovery has offered a small measure of hope amid an otherwise devastating case.

Police Search for Man
Investigators have identified 31-year-old Angel Carrasco as a person they want to question in connection with the incident.
Police have released his image and are continuing their search. Authorities have not announced an arrest, and the investigation remains active.
NYPD officials are reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence as they work to establish exactly what happened inside the apartment before the fall.
The case has left neighbors and the local community mourning Ramirez while hoping for the continued recovery of her young daughter.
For now, investigators are focused on finding answers, while the baby remains under medical care.
