Skydivers Jump Into Action After Witnessing Plane Crash in Wisconsin

EAST TROY, Wisconsin — September 27, 2026 — Three experienced skydivers turned an ordinary afternoon of jumping into an emergency response after witnessing a small plane crash near East Troy, Wisconsin.

They Saw the Plane Disappear Behind the Trees

The skydivers were preparing for a scheduled jump when they noticed a small aircraft behaving unusually before disappearing behind a line of trees.

Realizing that the aircraft may have crashed, the group quickly alerted emergency responders and asked their pilot to take them toward the crash site so they could assist from the ground.

A Former Paramedic Helped an Injured Survivor

One of the three skydivers was a former paramedic. After reaching the crash area, he provided immediate medical assistance to a survivor who had suffered a head injury.

The other skydivers also helped direct rescuers toward the crash site while emergency crews were being dispatched.

Emergency Crews Arrived Shortly After

The Beechcraft BE33 had four people aboard when it crashed. Three victims were transported for medical evaluation, while another person was treated at the scene, according to reports cited by People.

Police and fire-rescue teams from East Troy and Walworth County responded to the scene. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating what caused the aircraft to crash.

An Unexpected Response

The skydivers had not planned to become part of a rescue operation that day. Their experience, however, allowed them to recognize that something was wrong and quickly move toward the scene.

The incident also demonstrated how people who happen to witness an emergency can sometimes provide valuable assistance before professional responders arrive, particularly when they have relevant training or experience.
