Three Family Members Rescued After Fire Breaks Out in Delhi Building

New Delhi, India — September 28, 2026

Three members of a family were safely evacuated after a fire broke out inside a two-storey building in the Mandoli area of northeast Delhi on Sunday.

The incident occurred at a building in D Block of Harsh Vihar, where the ground floor had been rented for storage. The space contained cloth and foam materials used in the manufacture of weightlifting belts.

Police said two separate fire incidents were reported at the premises, prompting emergency teams to respond to the building.

Family Safely Evacuated

Four fire tenders, two ambulances and personnel from the Delhi Disaster Management Authority were sent to the scene.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control and carried out a thorough search of the building. Three members of the building owner’s family were found to have safely evacuated the property.

No injuries were reported, and officials confirmed that nobody remained trapped inside the building after the search was completed.

Possible Cause Under Investigation

During a preliminary assessment, a fire brigade officer suggested that an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire.

Authorities said the investigation into the incident is continuing. Officials are also examining the circumstances surrounding the fire and the materials stored on the ground floor.

The quick response by emergency crews helped ensure that the family members were able to leave the building safely before the situation became more serious.
