Three Masked Men Storm Toronto CEO’s Mansion — One Family’s Fight for Survival

A wealthy Toronto family was left injured after three masked intruders forced their way into their multimillion-dollar home in the early hours of the morning, launching a violent attack that has sparked a major police manhunt.

The incident happened at approximately 3:40 a.m. on October 29 at the residence of David Morton, 75, chief executive of the MAC Group, in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood.

According to Toronto police, three men entered the property through a rear entrance. Two were reportedly carrying handguns, while the third was armed with a hammer. The intruders then confronted the family upstairs and demanded valuables.

A struggle followed, during which multiple shots were fired. Morton and his two adult daughters, Maggie and Cristina, suffered gunshot wounds. His wife, Doriana Zohil-Morton, 64, was also attacked with a hammer.

In a statement released after the incident, Morton described the experience as terrifying and life-threatening. He said all four members of the family had been attacked with a hammer and required emergency medical treatment.

Police said two of the victims sustained injuries that could have life-altering consequences, while the other two suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not publicly specified which injuries corresponded to each family member.

The suspects reportedly escaped in a dark SUV. Investigators have not confirmed whether anything was stolen or established whether the family had been specifically targeted.

Toronto police described the three men as being in their twenties and warned that they should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities have appealed to residents for surveillance footage and information that could help identify the attackers.

A further development emerged on November 1, when police identified 23-year-old Daijohn Richards as one of the suspects. Investigators say he may have suffered a gunshot wound during the incident and later went to a hospital. Police initially spoke with him but said they did not have sufficient grounds to arrest him at that time.

Richards is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and faces several charges, including robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent to wound. The other two suspects have not been identified.

The investigation remains ongoing as police work to locate the remaining suspects and determine exactly what happened inside the Morton family’s home.
