Two Men Arrested After Drive-By Shooting Hits Wilmington Home
WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA — September 21, 2026

Two men have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that struck a home in Wilmington earlier this month, according to police records.

Robert Williams was taken into custody on Saturday, September 19, days after Wilmington police issued a warrant for his arrest. Another suspect, Shaquam Kemp, was arrested on the night of the shooting.

Gunfire Hits Home With Children Inside
The shooting happened on September 9 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Corbett Street.

According to arrest records, an adult and two children were inside the home when gunfire struck the property.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Two Suspects Face Charges
Williams is charged with:

Discharging a weapon into an occupied property
Discharging a firearm from a car
Felony conspiracy
Kemp faces the same charges, according to arrest records. He remains at the New Hanover County Detention Center without bond.

Police Continue Investigation
Investigators have not publicly disclosed what led to the shooting or whether the suspects knew the occupants of the home.

Police also have not released information about a possible motive or identified anyone who may have been targeted.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
