Woman Found Dead in Norfolk Home as Murder Investigation Begins

Police Called to a Home in the Early Hours

A murder investigation has been launched in Norfolk, England, after a woman in her 40s was found dead at a house in Dersingham.

Police were called to a property on Fern Hill shortly after 2.20am on Sunday, October 4, after receiving a report from the ambulance service. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man Arrested and Questioned

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team are leading the inquiry. Police have not publicly identified the arrested man or released details about his relationship with the woman.

Investigation Remains in Its Early Stages

Detective Inspector Alix Wright said investigators were still working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

A police cordon was placed around the property while specialist officers carried out enquiries. A Home Office post-mortem examination was also arranged to help establish the cause of death.

Residents Asked to Share Information

Police have appealed to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to come forward.

Officers have stressed that the investigation is still at an early stage. The arrest is an important development, but being arrested on suspicion of murder does not mean the man has been charged or found guilty.

Community Left Shaken

The investigation has brought a significant police presence to the normally quiet village. Officers remain focused on establishing what happened and building a clear picture of the events leading to the woman’s death.

As enquiries continue, detectives are expected to examine evidence from the property and information provided by potential witnesses before deciding on any further action.
