More than a year after Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to killing four University of Idaho students, his family is publicly supporting his effort to challenge that plea. đź’”
Kohberger admitted to the deaths of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin in July 2025. He was sentenced to four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 10 years for burglary.
Now, Kohberger is seeking post-conviction relief and wants to withdraw his guilty plea. He claims his former attorneys pressured him into pleading guilty and that he was given misleading information about what life in prison would be like. These are his claims and have not been established by the court.
His family says their support does not come from a lack of respect for the victims or their families. Instead, they say they want the “complete and unvarnished truth” to be established through the legal process.
They also said they continue to remember the four students, their families and the Moscow community while supporting Bryan as he pursues his legal challenge. 💙🙏
