THREE SISTERS FOUND DEAD OFF BRIGHTON BEACH: INQUEST REVEALS THEIR TRAGIC FINAL JOURNEY

A heartbreaking case that shocked the UK has taken a tragic turn after an inquest revealed how three sisters came to die in the sea off Brighton.

Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, were found in the water near Brighton Beach on May 13, 2026.

The three sisters, who were from west London and lived together, had travelled to Brighton the night before their deaths.

According to evidence presented at the inquest, they arrived near the seafront at around 10:21 p.m. on May 12. CCTV later recorded the sisters near the beach in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called at around 5:45 a.m. after people reported someone in the water. Two of the sisters were recovered by an RNLI lifeboat, while another was found on the shoreline.

Post-mortem examinations confirmed that all three died from drowning.

For months, investigators worked to establish what had happened. Sussex Police reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV and spoke with witnesses as they tried to reconstruct the sisters’ final movements.

In September, police confirmed there was no evidence of criminality or third-party involvement.

The inquest has now provided a further answer.

Senior Coroner Penelope Schofield concluded that the sisters had deliberately entered the sea intending to end their lives. She noted that they could not swim and that sea conditions were difficult at the time.

The inquest also heard that, shortly before travelling to Brighton, the sisters had made a journey to Birmingham. They visited an area near the former home of their mother, Janice Adetoro, who had died by drowning in 2010.

The circumstances have left their family facing an unimaginable loss.

Their father, Joseph Jacobson, paid tribute to his three daughters, describing them as beautiful, intelligent and accomplished women who were deeply loved.

“There are no words that can adequately express the pain of losing a child,” he said in a statement read to the court.

“To lose all three of my precious daughters is a heartbreak beyond anything I could ever have imagined.”

The coroner said the sisters lived very private lives and that their precise reasons for taking this course of action may never be fully understood.

Their deaths have left a grieving family and a community searching for answers to a tragedy that may never have a simple explanation.
