After the mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case, juror Nick Dargie opened up about his experience and the emotional weight of the trial. The jury ultimately could not reach a unanimous verdict, resulting in a mistrial on September 4, 2026.

But what stayed with Dargie most was not only the difficult testimony inside the courtroom. It was seeing online conspiracy theories surrounding Patrick Clancy, Lindsay’s former husband and the father of the three children who died.

Dargie said he was deeply troubled by claims suggesting Patrick was somehow responsible. He recalled hearing the 911 call Patrick made after discovering his children and described the experience as something he would never forget.

The case has generated intense discussion online, but the juror’s message was ultimately about something much simpler: the difference between what is established in court and what people speculate about on social media.

Patrick has also spoken publicly about the conspiracy theories, saying they are deeply harmful to his children’s legacy and distract from the larger conversation about perinatal mental health.

The legal case itself is not over. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will seek a retrial, and further court proceedings are expected later this month.
