Typhoon Dujuan Brings Torrential Rain to Japan, Killing Four

Typhoon Dujuan has brought torrential rain and strong winds to Japan’s Pacific coast, triggering landslides that have killed at least four people and left six others missing, according to Japan’s public broadcaster NHK as reported by Reuters.\

Landslides Hit Several Areas
The storm caused heavy rainfall across parts of the Kanto region, including Kanagawa and Chiba prefectures.

In Yokosuka, a woman in her 60s was killed after mud from a landslide flowed into her home. Three other people, aged between their 50s and 80s, were also reported dead.

Authorities were continuing search and rescue operations for six people who remained missing.

Thousands of Homes Lose Power
The typhoon also disrupted electricity supplies across affected areas.

Around 45,000 homes were without power as emergency crews responded to the storm and its aftermath.

Heavy rain also created the risk of additional landslides and flooding, prompting authorities to closely monitor vulnerable areas.

Dujuan is the latest in a series of powerful weather events to affect Japan and other parts of the world this year.

Emergency authorities have urged residents in affected areas to remain alert as rainfall continues and unstable ground conditions could trigger further landslides.
