The Black Wolf’s Betrayal
PART 2 — THE HOTEL WAS NEVER HIS
Dante stared at the folder in my hands.
“Bella, whatever you think you’ve found, you’re misunderstanding it.”
I tilted my head.
“Then explain it.”
His mistress, whose name I had just discovered was Vanessa Reed, stepped backward.
“Dante, you said this hotel belonged to your family.”
“It does,” he snapped.
I let out a quiet laugh.
“No, Mr. Moretti. It doesn’t.”
I opened the folder again and removed the original ownership certificate.
“The Grand Crescent Hotel was purchased five years ago with money inherited from my grandmother. I invested every dollar, negotiated every contract, and built this business from the ground up.”
Dante’s expression darkened.
“You’re my wife. What’s yours is mine.”
“That’s what you believed.”
I placed another document on the counter.
“Unfortunately for you, the hotel is registered under Bella Bennett Holdings. My personal company. You have never owned a single share.”
His jaw tightened.
“Who told you to prepare these documents?”
“I didn’t need anyone to tell me. I simply read my own financial records.”
Olivia stood beside me, looking increasingly uncomfortable.
I turned to her.
“Please contact our legal department and suspend every external transfer request associated with my accounts. Also, preserve all security footage from this morning.”
“Immediately, Mrs. Moretti.”
Dante stepped closer.
“You’re making a mistake, Bella.”
I looked him straight in the eyes.
“No. My mistake was believing that a man who called himself my husband would never try to steal from me.”
Vanessa suddenly spoke.
“Dante, you told me the hotel would be transferred into your name after tonight.”
I turned toward her.
“Tonight?”
She nodded hesitantly.
“He said you had already signed the documents. He promised we’d celebrate once everything was finalized.”
I looked back at my husband.

So that was the plan.
He hadn’t brought Vanessa here simply for a romantic getaway. He had intended to use the hotel’s private accounts to transfer its ownership, then present the transaction as a completed business arrangement.
“Did you sign anything, Bella?” Dante asked.
I smiled coldly.
“Why? Are you worried I might have?”
He said nothing.
I picked up the black folder and handed it to Olivia.
“Cancel their reservation.”
Dante’s eyes widened.
“You can’t be serious.”
“I’m the general manager. I can cancel any reservation that violates our property security policies.”
“You wouldn’t dare throw me out.”
I leaned forward slightly.
“You’re welcome to book another hotel. But don’t expect the owner of this one to pay for your honeymoon.”
For a moment, the Black Wolf looked ready to explode.
Then his phone rang.
He glanced at the screen and answered.
“What?”
A man’s voice came through loudly enough for me to hear.
“Boss, we have a problem. The bank has frozen the transfer.”
Dante’s eyes snapped toward me.
“What transfer?”
“The one to the offshore account. Someone reported it as unauthorized.”
I folded my arms.
“Interesting timing, isn’t it?”
He ended the call.
Then he looked at me with an expression I had never seen before.
“You planned this.”
“No, Dante. You planned it. I simply stopped you.”
He lowered his voice.
“You have no idea what you’ve started.”
I smiled.
“Perhaps. But I know exactly what you’ve lost.”
And as security escorted him toward the entrance, I realized something.
The Black Wolf had spent nine years believing his wife was powerless.
He was about to discover how wrong he had been.
