Tiffany Pollard Says Big Brother Star Omar El Mayer Gave Her the ‘Heebie-Jeebies’ as Controversy Deepens

Former Celebrity Big Brother personality Tiffany Pollard has weighed in on the growing controversy surrounding current Big Brother contestant Omar El Mayer, saying his behaviour during her brief appearance in the house made her uncomfortable.
Tiffany, who returned to the programme last week as a House Guest, made the remarks shortly after leaving the house. Speaking to Jamie East on his podcast Tales From The Celebrity Trenches, she described her first impression of Omar as distinctly unsettling.
Recalling the moment she emerged from a Jack-in-the-Box during her entrance, Tiffany said Omar would not stop staring at her. She suggested that his manner made it difficult to tell whether he was joking or being serious.
She went on to describe him as having an energy that made people uncomfortable, adding that he gave her the “heebie-jeebies”.
Omar has become the centre of a major row after his interactions with fellow contestant and on-and-off girlfriend Rhianna Collins prompted a huge backlash from viewers. More than 22,000 complaints have reportedly been submitted to broadcasting regulator Ofcom, making him the most complained-about contestant in the history of the show’s civilian series.
The controversy intensified after an episode showed Omar telling Rhianna not to cry, not to look away from him and not to discuss their disagreements with other housemates. The scenes prompted criticism from viewers and domestic abuse charity Women’s Aid, which warned that such behaviour risked being presented as entertainment.
Omar was subsequently called into the Diary Room and warned that some of his language and behaviour could cause offence. He denied dismissing Rhianna’s feelings and said he had not entered the house with malicious intentions.
After leaving the programme, Rhianna said she had watched footage of their arguments and was surprised by some of her own reactions, including moments when she found herself apologising. She also said she wanted to protect herself while acknowledging that she still had feelings for Omar.

Tiffany’s comments add another celebrity voice to the debate surrounding the show’s handling of the relationship. Her remarks are based on her own impression of Omar during her time in the house, while the wider controversy continues to generate strong reactions from viewers.
The full podcast episode featuring Tiffany is scheduled for release on Friday, November 6.
