Baby Born Inside Traffic Police Station After Mother Goes Into Sudden Labor

Surat, India — September 26, 2026

A baby was born inside a traffic police station outside Surat Railway Station after the baby’s mother went into sudden labor while traveling with her family.

The woman was on her way to Madhya Pradesh with her husband and another child when she suddenly experienced severe labor pains at around 3:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Police Quickly Came to Her Aid

The woman’s cries attracted the attention of traffic police and Traffic Brigade personnel stationed outside Surat Railway Station.

After learning that she was pregnant and in labor, the officers immediately helped the woman and her husband move to a nearby traffic police station, while emergency medical staff at the railway station were also alerted.

The Baby Arrived Before an Ambulance Could Take Her to Hospital

The mother’s labor progressed rapidly. Before she could be transported to a hospital, she gave birth inside the police station.

The sound of the newborn crying brought relief to everyone at the scene. Traffic personnel assisted the mother while medical staff provided initial care for both mother and baby.

An ambulance was then called and took the mother and her newborn to New Civil Hospital in Surat for further medical examination and treatment.

An Unexpected Delivery

What began as a routine journey to Madhya Pradesh suddenly turned into an emergency when the woman went into labor near the railway station.

Traffic officers who were working outside the station ended up helping create a temporary place for the delivery before medical professionals could take the mother and baby to hospital.

Videos from the scene later circulated online, showing the traffic police station and personnel caring for the newborn after the delivery.

A Safe Journey to Hospital

According to the report, both the mother and baby were taken to New Civil Hospital for further medical care following the unexpected birth.

The unusual delivery turned a busy railway-station area into the setting for a memorable first moment in the newborn’s life.
