Stranger Stops His Journey to Rescue a Mother Cow Trapped in a Fence

A simple roadside journey turned into a touching rescue in China’s Xinjiang region after a man stopped to help a mother cow trapped in a wire fence while her calf waited nearby.

The incident took place in Altay, Xinjiang, on September 18. The cow had become caught in a roadside wire fence and was unable to free herself. Her young calf remained close to her, repeatedly mooing as the mother struggled.

A Passing Man Decides to Help

A man traveling along the road noticed the situation and stopped. He approached the trapped animal carefully before working to loosen her from the wire.

The calf stayed beside its mother throughout the rescue. In footage of the incident, the young animal can be seen waiting nearby while the man works to release the cow.

After the wire was removed, the mother cow was able to stand free and reunite with her calf.

A Small Act With a Happy Ending

The rescue was brief, but the reunion between the mother and her calf turned an ordinary roadside moment into a touching scene.

The incident also highlights how a small decision to stop and help can make a difference when an animal is unable to escape danger on its own.

Footage of the rescue was released through Reuters on September 30 and showed the mother cow safely freed from the fence before returning to her calf.
