Elena Moore Cause of Death Revealed: South Carolina Personal Trainer Died of Heart Complications

MISSING FITNESS TRAINER ELENA MOORE’S CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED AFTER MONTHS OF QUESTIONS

Authorities have revealed the cause of death of Elena Katherine Moore, a 39-year-old personal trainer whose disappearance in South Carolina prompted a search that ended in tragedy.

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Moore died from complications of cardiac dysrhythmia with premature ventricular contractions — a condition involving an abnormal heart rhythm. Her death was classified as natural.

Moore was last seen on June 11, 2026, after leaving a Planet Fitness location in Lexington. Her body was discovered in a wooded area on June 17, nearly a week after she disappeared.

During a news conference on October 9, the coroner described the case as “very tragic and complicated” and said investigators had carefully reviewed Moore’s medical history and the circumstances surrounding her final days.

Officials said Moore had a history of an irregular heartbeat dating back to her teenage years. According to the coroner, toxicology findings also indicated that she had not taken her prescribed heart medication for some time before her death. High temperatures and possible dehydration may have further aggravated her heart condition.

In the days before her disappearance, Moore had experienced a serious health crisis and received medical care. The coroner said she was released from an inpatient facility on June 11, the same day she went missing.

Investigators found no evidence of traumatic physical injuries. The coroner also clarified that Moore’s husband was never considered a suspect or person of interest in the case.

While the findings have answered a major question surrounding Moore’s death, the case has also raised concerns about the challenges of recognizing and responding to someone experiencing a serious health crisis.

Coroner Margaret Fisher expressed condolences to Moore’s family and described the investigation as especially difficult for those who loved her.

Elena Moore’s story is a heartbreaking reminder that serious health struggles may not always be visible to others — and that timely support can matter.
