Elizabeth Holmes’ Partner Billy Evans Feels Betrayed by Nathan Fielder’s Explosive Documentary

Elizabeth Holmes’ partner, Billy Evans, is reportedly upset over how he and the convicted Theranos founder were portrayed in a new documentary by comedian Nathan Fielder and filmmaker Lance Oppenheim.
The film, titled You Can See Everything, offers an unusually intimate look at Holmes and Evans during the period leading up to her imprisonment for fraud. What began as an opportunity to document their private lives has reportedly developed into a dispute over trust, privacy and the filmmakers’ decisions about what to include in the final cut.
According to a source quoted by PEOPLE, Evans felt that his trust had been violated by a full-frontal nude shower scene featured in the documentary. The source said Evans had agreed to the scene only on the understanding that it would remain suitable for a general audience.
The account differs from director Lance Oppenheim’s explanation, previously reported by Vulture, that Evans unexpectedly undressed and entered the shower while cameras were rolling. The source speaking to PEOPLE disputed that version and said Evans was upset to learn how explicit the scene was through media coverage.
Holmes and Evans had reportedly given the filmmakers extensive access to their lives, allowing them to spend time at their home and record thousands of hours of footage. However, the couple did not have control over the final edit.

The dispute comes amid other tensions revealed in the documentary. Fielder portrays disagreements over whether Evans and Holmes should receive a share of the film’s profits. Evans reportedly sought compensation, raising concerns among the filmmakers about whether paying documentary subjects could compromise the project’s independence. The film’s closing text says Evans ultimately chose to forgo payment.
Holmes, the founder of blood-testing company Theranos, was convicted of fraud in 2022 and sentenced to more than 11 years in prison. Her company once attracted enormous investment and public attention before its claims about blood-testing technology collapsed under scrutiny.
The documentary has renewed public interest in Holmes, her relationship with Evans and the questions surrounding how the couple wanted their story to be told. The reported disagreement over the shower scene adds another layer to a film already drawing attention for its unusually personal access and behind-the-scenes conflicts.
