Judge Raises Questions About Due Process

The news organizations’ attorney, Theodore Boutrous Jr., argued that the restrictions violated the First Amendment and that the government’s explanations came after the decision had already been made. Representing the Justice Department, an attorney defended the administration’s position that the president has significant authority over who is permitted to access the White House. The government emphasized national security considerations as part of its legal defense.
