Missing 6-Year-Old Boy Found Alive After Three-Day Search as Hundreds of Volunteers Join Desperate Hunt in Kentucky

A six-year-old boy who disappeared from his home in Kentucky has been found alive after an extensive search involving hundreds of volunteers and emergency responders.

Roman Heilman was reported missing on Sunday, November 1, after he was last seen near his home on Tadpole Road in Louisa, Lawrence County. His disappearance prompted an urgent search across the surrounding area, with authorities and residents working together in the hope of bringing him home safely.

Kentucky State Police confirmed on Tuesday, November 3, that Roman had been located by emergency crews in the Louisa area. He was subsequently being medically evaluated.

Roman’s disappearance had triggered an IAN Alert, a special notification used in Kentucky when a child with autism or a mental illness goes missing and may be in danger.

According to the missing-person alert, Roman was approximately three feet tall, weighed around 60 pounds and had shoulder-length blonde hair and blue eyes. He was believed to be wearing a green plaid jacket and red-and-white monster truck pajama pants.

The search involved multiple law enforcement agencies, emergency personnel, specialist teams and hundreds of community volunteers. Searchers examined wooded areas, riverbanks and nearby properties while drones, aircraft and K-9 units were also deployed.

Authorities had shared a particularly important detail about the boy: Roman was known to respond to the children’s song “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” Residents and search teams were encouraged to sing the familiar song and clap their hands in an effort to attract his attention.

The community response was extensive, with volunteers helping search the area while others provided food, water, flashlights and other supplies for rescue crews.

Following the successful search, Kentucky State Police thanked the local, state and federal agencies, along with the hundreds of volunteers who had assisted in the effort.

Officials have not yet released the exact location where Roman was found or explained the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Further details about his medical condition were also not immediately available.

For his family and the Louisa community, the confirmation that the missing child had been found alive brought an end to several days of uncertainty and fear.
