A major development has emerged in the case involving Elizabeth Siders and her family, after prosecutors moved forward with additional allegations following the discovery of 16 children living in unsafe conditions inside a Hamden, Ohio, home.

According to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, a Vinton County grand jury indicted Elizabeth Siders and her husband, Gary Siders Jr., on two counts of sexual battery and two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in a separate investigation. Prosecutors allege the conduct occurred between January and September 2022 and involved a minor who was not an immediate family member.

The new indictments add another layer to an investigation that began before authorities removed the 16 children from the home on June 30, 2026. The children, ranging in age from approximately 18 months to 18 years, were found in conditions authorities described as severely unsafe, and all four adults initially arrested in connection with the home faced child-endangerment charges.

Court records now show that the case is considerably broader than the initial allegations. Elizabeth Siders was indicted on 19 counts of child endangerment, in addition to the four newly reported sexual-offense counts. She pleaded not guilty at a September 16 hearing. Her husband faces the same four additional sexual-offense counts alongside his child-endangerment charges.

Investigators have also been examining circumstances surrounding the family before the June search warrant was executed. Authorities say the investigation into alleged unlawful sexual conduct helped lead to the search of the Hamden residence, where the 16 children were subsequently discovered.

The latest court developments therefore raise important questions about what investigators uncovered before the June 30 search, what additional evidence was presented to the grand jury, and how the separate investigations became connected.
