Patrick Clancy and his wife, Rachel Danis, have revealed that they are preparing to start a family together — a deeply personal new chapter following the devastating loss of Patrick’s three young children in 2023.

The couple shared the news during Patrick’s first major interview since the conclusion of his former wife Lindsay Clancy’s highly publicized murder trial, which ended in a mistrial earlier this month.

Sitting beside Patrick during the 60 Minutes interview, Danis confirmed that the couple is hoping to build a family of their own.

Patrick also spoke about his three children from his previous marriage: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, who was just 8 months old when they died.

Rather than leaving their memories behind, Patrick said he hopes to introduce his future children to the siblings they never had the chance to meet.

“I can’t wait to tell them about their brothers and sister,” he said.

For Patrick, the road to this new chapter has been marked by profound grief.

After the deaths of his children at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023, he eventually left the small community because everyday reminders became overwhelming.

He recalled driving past his children’s school one day and seeing their classmates arriving.

That moment, he said, made him realize he could no longer remain in the area.

Patrick eventually moved to Manhattan, where he found some privacy as he tried to rebuild his life.

Then, in January 2024, he met Rachel through a running club.

Danis, 37, works in reproductive medicine and infertility care in New York City. What began with a chance meeting during a cold Saturday run eventually developed into a relationship.

The couple married in April at an intimate ceremony at the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park.

Danis has also spoken about the criticism the couple has received online, emphasizing that their relationship began naturally while both were moving forward with their lives.

Patrick has credited Rachel with helping him find hope again while continuing to carry the memories of his children.

“My life has changed since I met Rachel in such a positive way,” he said during the interview.

Their announcement does not erase the pain of the past. Instead, it marks a new chapter for two people who say they are choosing to move forward while keeping Patrick’s first three children firmly in their family’s story.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Clancy remains at Tewksbury State Hospital in Massachusetts. Her trial ended without a verdict after jurors were unable to reach the required agreement concerning her insanity defense.

Patrick and Rachel’s story now enters another chapter — one shaped by love, remembrance, and the hope of building a future while honoring the children who will always remain part of Patrick’s life.
