Police Close Investigation Into Death of 21-Year-Old Corinna Baker at Welsh Boatyard

The criminal investigation into the death of 21-year-old Corinna Baker has been formally closed, with police confirming that a man previously arrested on suspicion of murder will face no further action.

Corinna was found dead at Netpool Boat Yard in Cardigan, Ceredigion, Wales, on November 15, 2025. Her death initially prompted a murder investigation, and a 29-year-old man was arrested during the inquiry.

Dyfed-Powys Police has now confirmed that officers have completed a comprehensive review of the evidence, including the findings of Corinna’s post-mortem examination. Following that review, detectives concluded the criminal investigation and determined that no further action would be taken against the man who had been arrested.

The decision does not mean that all questions surrounding Corinna’s death have been publicly answered. Police have not disclosed the exact cause of death or released the details of the post-mortem findings.

Instead, the case file is now being prepared for HM Coroner, who will conduct an inquest into Corinna’s death. The coroner’s process is expected to examine the circumstances surrounding her death and establish the relevant facts.

Corinna’s family previously described themselves as devastated by the loss of their loved one, saying she was “much loved” and would be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. They also appealed for anyone with information about what happened at the boatyard to come forward.

The 29-year-old man’s arrest during the investigation was an allegation only, and police have now confirmed that he faces no further action. An arrest on suspicion of murder does not amount to a finding of guilt.
