Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared rare photos of her two children as she celebrated their birthdays in September.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress and her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., are parents to daughter Charlotte, 17, and son Rocky, 14. Both of their children were born in the same month.

Gellar took to Instagram over the weekend to celebrate Charlotte’s 17th birthday, sharing a selfie of herself and her daughter.

“Yesterday was my best friend’s birthday @charlotteprinze. I’m not sure how you are 17 already,” Gellar wrote in the caption.

She described Charlotte as the child who made her a mother and said her daughter had since become someone who brings out the best in her and serves as one of her biggest supporters.

The following day, Gellar celebrated Rocky’s birthday by posting a photo of herself with her son, along with another image showing him sitting in a go-kart.

“And then, there were two,” the 49-year-old actress wrote, recalling that Rocky was born three years and one day after his sister.

Gellar said she felt fortunate to watch her son pursue his dream of becoming a race car driver, adding that he inspires her and those around him.

The posts marked a rare public glimpse of the couple’s teenage children. In the past, Gellar and Prinze Jr. had chosen not to show their children’s faces on social media.

During a 2022 appearance on Yahoo! Life’s parenting series So Mini Ways, Gellar explained that she and Prinze Jr. had strict rules regarding their children’s use of social media.

“Our kids don’t have social media,” she said at the time, explaining that they were sometimes allowed to look at social media through their parents’ phones.

Gellar also joked that her children occasionally complained that their household was particularly strict, while she maintained that the rules were intended to protect them.

The actress and Prinze Jr. have been married since 2002 and have continued to keep much of their family life away from the public spotlight.
