Tech Billionaire Adam Robinson’s Heartbreaking Family Message Goes Viral After He, His Wife and Two Young Children Die in Florida Plane Crash

A heartbreaking social media post written by technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson about the importance of family has resurfaced following his death alongside his wife and two young children in a devastating private jet crash in Florida.
Robinson, 45, his wife, Helen Sharp, 40, and their children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, were among nine people killed when a Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County on November 1, 2026.
The family was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when the aircraft plunged into a residential area near Greenacres and erupted into flames.
Their children’s nanny, Anita Maria Cetina, and family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr also lost their lives. The two pilots, Captain Jeff Gregory and co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, were also killed.
In the days following the tragedy, attention turned to a deeply personal message Robinson had shared on X in April, in which he reflected on the sacrifices people make in their careers and the importance of being present for their families.
Robinson recalled working on Wall Street during his twenties and observing colleagues who spent 70, 80 or even 90 hours a week working to provide for their families.
However, he said many of those families wanted something money could not buy: more time with their loved ones.
He explained that he had made a conscious decision early in his startup career not to allow work to consume his family life.
Robinson wrote that he would shut down his laptop when the working day ended, stop discussing business at home and sometimes leave the office between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
He also shared a sentiment that has taken on an especially emotional meaning following his death: his family life gave him energy for his work, while his work gave him energy for his family life.
Robinson was the founder and CEO of Retention.com and RB2B, technology companies focused on helping businesses identify website visitors and connect with potential customers.
His brother, Anthony Robinson, shared an emotional tribute following the family’s deaths, describing Adam and Helen as a couple whose love and generosity touched countless lives.
In a joint statement, relatives remembered Emma and Charlie as the light of their parents’ lives. They also described the children’s nanny, Anita Maria, as someone who cared for them with extraordinary tenderness and devotion.
Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr were remembered as a couple full of joy and adventure who loved their friends and each other deeply.
Meanwhile, investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. The aircraft’s crew had reported moderate turbulence and ice accumulation before declaring an emergency and experiencing a rapid descent from approximately 35,000 feet.
The National Transportation Safety Board has also recovered important aircraft components several miles from the crash site, suggesting that parts of the jet separated before impact. Investigators have not yet determined the definitive cause.
The tragedy has left several families devastated and prompted an outpouring of condolences from friends, colleagues and people who were moved by Robinson’s final reflections on family life.

His April message has now taken on a heartbreaking significance, reminding readers of the importance he placed on spending time with the people he loved.
