Tech CEO Adam Robinson Spoke About the Status of Private Jets Before Tragic Crash Killed His Entire Family

A resurfaced video of technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson discussing his love of private jet travel has taken on a heartbreaking significance following the plane crash that killed him, his wife and their two young children in Florida.

Robinson, 45, founder of the technology companies Retention.com and RB2B, was among nine people killed when a Learjet 60 crashed in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, on November 1, 2026.

His wife, Helen Sharp, 40, their children Emma, four, and Charlie, two, were also aboard the aircraft, along with their nanny, Anita Maria Cetina, and family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr. Both pilots were killed as well.

In an interview recorded at an unknown date, Robinson spoke candidly about how private aviation had become part of his lifestyle while he was working in New York’s financial industry.

He recalled being surrounded by wealthy Wall Street contacts and hedge fund executives who regularly arranged private flights, sometimes deciding to travel to another city at the last minute.

Initially, he believed the luxury was beyond his reach. However, he later discovered that certain private aviation arrangements could cost only a few thousand dollars per month.

Robinson described the feeling of being able to access that lifestyle himself, admitting that the status associated with private flying had become part of his identity.

The resurfaced clip has attracted widespread attention following the devastating crash, with viewers reflecting on the contrast between his earlier comments about luxury travel and the tragedy that ended his life.

The Learjet had departed Austin, Texas, and was heading towards the Bahamas when it crashed into a residential area in Florida.

According to investigators, the flight crew reported ice accumulation and turbulence before the aircraft rapidly lost altitude. The co-pilot, 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, made emergency radio calls as the jet descended, while pilot Jeff Gregory, 55, was also heard during the distressing final communications.

All nine people aboard died. One person on the ground sustained minor injuries.

The families later released a joint tribute describing Adam and Helen as devoted parents whose children were the centre of their lives. They remembered the couple for their warmth, generosity and ability to make others feel welcome.

Robinson had built a career in technology after previously working in finance, while Helen was a ceramic artist and business owner.

Federal investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the aircraft’s condition, weather and possible mechanical factors. No final cause has been established.
