Texas Mother Accused of Killing Her Two Sons After Haunting 911 Call

A Texas mother is facing two capital murder charges after her two sons, aged 21 and 15, were fatally shot inside their family home in Waxahachie.

Colleen Nichole Lemmon, 42, was arrested on October 1, 2026, after deputies with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency call at a home on Big Sky Drive shortly after 4 a.m.

According to investigators, dispatchers received a 911 call that repeatedly disconnected. When they managed to speak with the caller, a woman reportedly said that all available units were needed, but did not clearly explain the emergency.

When deputies arrived, they heard a woman inside the home shouting for additional officers. After entering the residence, they discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The older son, identified as Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 15-year-old brother was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries. Authorities have withheld the younger boy’s name.

According to the arrest affidavit cited by local media, Lemmon was found inside the home with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Investigators alleged that she made a statement indicating she had shot both children.

Authorities said evidence gathered during the investigation led them to believe Lemmon was responsible for the shootings. She was taken to a hospital for treatment before being booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center.

Lemmon was charged with two counts of capital murder. Local media subsequently reported that her bond was set at $2.5 million.

The motive behind the shootings has not been publicly established in the reports reviewed. The tragedy has left the boys’ father and other relatives grieving, while the investigation and legal proceedings continue.

Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman expressed condolences to the victims’ father and family, saying they would remain in the community’s prayers during the difficult time.
