11-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured After Being Shot Inside Sydney Home

An 11-year-old boy is in serious condition after being shot in the face and neck inside a home in Sydney’s northwest, with three 18-year-old men arrested as police investigate what happened.

Shooting Reported in Norwest
Emergency services were called to a property on Fairway Drive in Norwest shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday following reports of a shooting.

NSW Police officers arrived and found the boy suffering gunshot wounds to his face and neck. Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Police said the shooting appeared to have occurred inside the home.

Three Men Arrested
Five other people were inside the property when police arrived, including four 18-year-old men and a 44-year-old woman. None of them were injured.

Three of the 18-year-old men were arrested and were assisting police with their inquiries, according to authorities.

Police have not publicly identified the arrested men or announced charges in connection with the shooting.

Police Investigate the Circumstances
Superintendent Naomi Moore said investigators were still working to determine exactly what happened inside the apartment.

Police were also investigating how the firearm came to be inside the property. Authorities said no firearms were registered to the address, and the weapon had not yet been located.

Police said there was currently no information indicating the shooting was connected to organised crime.

The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives have established a crime scene at the property.
