Cleveland Guardians Clinch Third Straight AL Central Title After Dramatic Late-Season Run

The Cleveland Guardians have won the American League Central for the third consecutive season after defeating the Kansas City Royals 11-5 on Saturday night.

The division title came after an impressive late-season turnaround. Cleveland had been six games behind the Chicago White Sox in the standings in mid-August, but the Guardians responded with a strong run over the final weeks of the regular season.

Cleveland’s players now turn their attention to the playoffs, where they will begin a best-of-five American League Division Series at home.

After overcoming a significant midseason deficit and a series of injuries, the Guardians enter the postseason with the momentum of one of baseball’s strongest late-season runs.
