Patrick Clancy has shared one of his most emotional revelations yet, describing how he still speaks to his three children years after their deaths — and the simple words he says when the grief becomes overwhelming.

In his first major television interview since Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial ended in a mistrial, Patrick said he continues to feel connected to Cora, Dawson and Callan by talking to them regularly. When asked what he says, his answer was strikingly simple: “Help me. All the time.” Patrick added that he likes to believe they do help him and said speaking to them is one way he maintains a bond with them.

The interview also revealed more about the grief Patrick has carried since January 2023. He described the final days of his youngest son, Callan, who survived for several days after the attack before dying in Patrick’s arms. Patrick also spoke about periods when his grief became so severe that he experienced suicidal thoughts, as well as the panic attack he suffered while testifying during Lindsay’s trial.

The legal case itself remains unresolved. Lindsay Clancy admitted killing the three children but pleaded not guilty on the basis that she lacked criminal responsibility, with her defense arguing that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis. Prosecutors disputed that defense. The trial ended on September 4, 2026, after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict, and prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will seek a new trial.

Patrick also reflected on the months before the tragedy and the questions he still asks himself about whether he could have recognized the seriousness of Lindsay’s mental-health struggles sooner. He told the interviewer that, looking back, he believes he did the best he could with the information he had at the time — even though he continues to live with the outcome every day.

Patrick has since remarried Dr. Rachel Danis, and the couple are expecting a child together. Danis said she first learned about Cora, Dawson and Callan after seeing their photograph and asking Patrick who they were. Their interview showed how the children remain present in Patrick’s new life rather than becoming a chapter he simply left behind.
