Arrest Made After Deadly Shooting on Columbus’ West Side
Columbus, Ohio — September 22, 2026

Police have arrested a suspect following a deadly shooting on the west side of Columbus, Ohio, authorities said.

The shooting happened Monday evening in the 200 block of North Wheatland Avenue, just north of East Broad Street.

Victim Dies After Shooting
Columbus police received reports of gunfire at around 7:30 p.m., according to local authorities.

Officers found a person suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in critical condition but was later pronounced dead at about 8 p.m.

Police have not yet publicly released the victim’s identity.

Suspect Arrested
Authorities detained a person at the scene for questioning shortly after the shooting.
