Brooklyn Man Arrested After Alleged Racist Tirade on Delta Flight at JFK Airport

A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Atlanta was delayed after a 60-year-old passenger allegedly launched into a racist, profanity-filled outburst while the aircraft was preparing for departure at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Jerome Anixter, of Brooklyn, was removed from Flight DL2342 by Port Authority police on October 22, 2026, after officers responded to reports of a disruptive passenger who appeared to be intoxicated, according to media reports.

Video circulating online appears to show a man being escorted down the aircraft aisle by officers while shouting profanities and using a racial slur. At one point, he tells people filming him to post the footage on Instagram. Other passengers can be heard reacting as the man is led off the plane.

Police subsequently arrested Anixter. He faces charges of assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, according to reports. The charges are allegations, and the case must proceed through the legal system.

A witness also claimed the passenger shouted “Death to America” and mimicked firing a gun at other travelers. Those additional claims were not independently confirmed in the initial reporting. Authorities have not publicly established what triggered the alleged outburst.

The flight was carrying 160 passengers and six crew members. After the passenger was removed, the aircraft departed approximately 45 minutes behind schedule.

Delta Air Lines issued a statement condemning the disruption and thanking law enforcement for its assistance. The airline also apologized to passengers for the experience and the delay.

The incident has drawn attention online because of the footage showing the passenger’s behavior as officers escorted him from the aircraft. However, the full circumstances leading to the confrontation remain unclear.
