CHRIS WATTS’ LETTER TO SHANANN REVEALED YEARS AFTER HE KILLED HIS FAMILY

A letter Chris Watts wrote to his wife Shanann has resurfaced, revealing what he wanted his parents to say at her graveside nearly two years after he killed her and their two young daughters.

The letter was dated January 10, 2020, which would have been Shanann’s 36th birthday.
Watts addressed her affectionately at the beginning of the letter and wrote about wishing he could somehow make amends for what he had done to his family.
He also wrote that Shanann and their children had deserved to live long lives, while describing the person responsible for the killings as an “aberration brought on by an evil outside source.”
That explanation has drawn particular attention because Watts had already pleaded guilty to killing Shanann, Bella and Celeste in 2018.
Watts asked his parents, Cindy and Ronnie Watts, to read the letter at the graves of Shanann and the children in North Carolina.
The letter also described Watts imagining what his family might be doing and feeling as though they were looking down on him.
Chris Watts is currently serving five consecutive life sentences at a Wisconsin prison for the 2018 killings.
The newly revealed letter has once again brought attention to one of the most closely followed family murder cases in the United States.
