Lindsay Clancy Holdout Juror Praised as “American Hero” by Lawyer
Boston, September 18, 2026 — The lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has hired an attorney who has publicly described him as an “American Hero” and “Champion of Justice” following the jury’s failure to reach a unanimous verdict.

The juror, identified as Michael P. Desronvil, was the only member of the 12-person jury who did not support finding Lindsay Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity. The disagreement resulted in a mistrial on September 4 after several days of deliberations.

Lawyer Defends the Holdout Juror
Attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik announced that he was representing Desronvil and said his client was currently staying at an undisclosed secure location in rural northern New England.

In a statement, Paltzik described Desronvil as an “American Hero and Champion of Justice” and asked the public to respect his privacy. The lawyer said Desronvil would not be giving interviews at this time.

Paltzik has previously represented President Donald Trump in a lawsuit involving CBS over a 60 Minutes interview. He has also represented other high-profile clients in legal matters.

Juror Rejects Claims That He Had Doubts
Desronvil has also spoken publicly through his attorney for the first time.

He disputed claims made by other jurors that he had acknowledged having reasonable doubt about Clancy’s criminal responsibility. Desronvil said he “didn’t have any doubts” and argued that the physical evidence, testimony from key witnesses and the prosecution’s case convinced him that Clancy knew what she was doing.

The comments conflict with statements previously given by members of the jury, who said the panel had been divided largely because of Desronvil’s position.

Why Did the Trial End in a Mistrial?
Lindsay Clancy was charged in connection with the deaths of her three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023.

Clancy’s defense argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions. Prosecutors argued that she understood what she was doing and should be held responsible.

After six days of deliberations, the jury remained deadlocked. Eleven jurors supported finding Clancy not criminally responsible, while Desronvil remained opposed. Judge William Sullivan ultimately declared a mistrial on September 4.

The case therefore remains unresolved. The Plymouth County district attorney has not yet announced whether prosecutors will seek a retrial.

Intense Public Attention
Since the mistrial, Desronvil has received both criticism and public support. His decision as the lone holdout has attracted significant media attention, while his personal history has also become the subject of public scrutiny.

His attorney has urged people not to attempt to locate or contact him and said that Desronvil is currently focused on his safety and well-being.

For now, the future of the Lindsay Clancy case remains uncertain. Prosecutors must decide whether to pursue another trial, while the controversy surrounding the lone juror continues to generate national attention.
