Mother Accused of Killing Husband and 3-Year-Old Son at Great Wolf Lodge After Family Spent Weeks at Resort

A family getaway at a popular Pennsylvania indoor water park ended in a devastating double homicide after a 27-year-old mother was accused of killing her husband and their three-year-old son inside a guest room.

Metallica Rose Harrison, of Towanda, Pennsylvania, faces two counts of criminal homicide in connection with the deaths of her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains on October 12, 2026.

According to court documents, Harrison called 911 shortly after 3 p.m., telling the dispatcher she needed help dying and could not find a vein in her neck. When officers arrived, they reportedly found her injured and saying that she wanted to be with her husband and son.

Inside the hotel room, officers discovered Charles and the child dead from stab wounds. Investigators recovered two knives, medication bottles and containers believed to contain blood. Harrison was taken to a hospital while in police custody.

The family had checked into the resort on September 21 and extended their stay, remaining there for about three weeks before the tragedy. Surveillance footage reportedly showed the couple leaving their room to visit the resort’s arcade the night before the deaths, returning together without their son.

Newly released search warrant documents have added further questions to the investigation. According to the records, Charles’s mother and sister told investigators that Harrison had been controlling and had increasingly isolated him and the child from his relatives. They also alleged that she had expressed resentment about becoming a mother.

These statements are allegations reported in investigative documents and have not been independently established as the motive for the killings. Authorities have not publicly confirmed what led to the deaths.

Investigators also searched the family’s home in Towanda, where they seized knives, journals, financial records, a laptop and other personal documents. Police said the materials could help them understand the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The Monroe County District Attorney described the case as a violent domestic tragedy and said determining the motive was among the most difficult questions facing investigators.

Harrison remains accused of the killings, and the case is proceeding through the criminal justice system. The deaths have left relatives and the wider community grappling with how a family stay at a place designed for children and recreation could end in such devastating circumstances.
