A well-known Mr. Olympia judge accidentally struck and killed his 6-year-old son while reversing a Tesla Cybertruck outside the family’s home in Southern California, authorities said.

Terrick El Guindy, 48, of Temecula, hit his son Preston shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday on Brookhaven Court, near Highway 79. Relatives called 911 immediately. The boy was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he died later that night from his injuries.

A GoFundMe organized by family friend Stefanie Chesbro described the accident as occurring while Preston was playing outside in the neighborhood. “His injuries were too great and Preston tragically passed away at the hospital with Mom by his side,” the page said. “His parents and sister, Scarlett, are left with the insurmountable tragedy that is losing their son and brother.”

The post added: “To know Preston is to love him. Always with a smile on his face he brings joy to everyone in his life.” The family said Preston had just started first grade last month.

El Guindy was questioned by officers but was not arrested. A California Highway Patrol spokesman said the Cybertruck was not operating in Autopilot at the time and offered condolences to the family. It is not clear whether any dashboard alerts warned El Guindy that his son was behind the vehicle. The CHP is investigating.

El Guindy has served as a judge for the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition and hosts commentary programs including Prime Time Muscle and Olympia TV.
