Passengers Get Into Physical Altercation Mid-Flight on London-Bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight

Mid-Air Brawl Erupts on Biman Bangladesh Flight to London as Passengers Step In
A fight broke out between two passengers aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Sylhet, Bangladesh, to London Heathrow, leaving fellow travelers—including children and elderly passengers—alarmed as the confrontation unfolded inside the aircraft cabin.
The incident occurred on September 16, 2026, during Biman flight BG201, which was traveling from Sylhet to London. Flight records show the service was operated by a Boeing 787-8 and was scheduled to arrive at Heathrow later that day.

Video footage from inside the aircraft later circulated online, showing two men involved in a physical confrontation. The passengers can be seen grappling with each other and throwing punches in the cabin, while one man’s shirt was torn during the struggle.
What reportedly began as an argument escalated into a physical fight, causing panic among nearby passengers. Several travelers moved from their seats and attempted to intervene as the confrontation continued.
The incident was particularly disturbing for passengers traveling with children and elderly relatives, who witnessed the fight taking place in the confined space of the aircraft. Other passengers eventually joined the effort to separate the two men.
Cabin crew members also stepped in and were able to separate the passengers and bring the confrontation under control. Biman Bangladesh Airlines confirmed that a physical altercation had occurred during the flight.

Mohiuddin Ahmed, Biman’s general manager for public relations, said the flight had departed Sylhet for London and that the two passengers became involved in a physical altercation at some point during the journey. He said the cabin crew subsequently intervened and resolved the situation.
The exact reason for the dispute has not been officially established by the airline. Some reports have described the confrontation as beginning over a seating-related disagreement, but Biman’s confirmed public account does not provide a specific explanation for what triggered the argument.
The incident has drawn attention to the challenges of dealing with disruptive behavior aboard long-haul flights, where passengers and crew have limited space to respond when a confrontation suddenly becomes physical.
For now, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has confirmed the altercation and the crew’s intervention, while further details about the passengers involved and the circumstances that led to the fight remain unclear.
