Netflix Actor Clayton Conroy Recovering From Devastating Crash as Teen Driver Faces Felony Charge

Rising actor Clayton Conroy was on the verge of a major breakthrough when a devastating Los Angeles crash left him with life-changing injuries and months of rehabilitation.

Conroy, 32, who appeared in a recurring role on Netflix’s The Gringo Hunters, was seriously injured on April 19, 2026, when another vehicle struck his car as he was exiting Interstate 10 in Los Angeles. Reports say the other vehicle was traveling at more than 100 mph, although that speed has been described in Conroy’s account and media reporting rather than established here as a final official crash finding.

The impact left Conroy with a traumatic brain injury, fractures involving his hip, shoulder and leg, and severe nerve damage to his arm. He was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he underwent emergency brain surgery.

Conroy later described the crash as a moment that completely changed his life. He recalled entering the exit lane and checking his rearview mirror before noticing lights approaching rapidly. His next memory was waking up in the hospital.

His recovery has been long and difficult. Conroy spent about a month in the hospital before continuing cognitive, physical and occupational therapy. At different stages, he relied on a rollator and then a cane as he gradually worked toward walking independently again.

The actor also described losing significant weight and having to relearn everyday activities during rehabilitation. His family has remained closely involved throughout the process, with his mother describing the experience of watching her son relearn basic skills as deeply difficult.

The crash came at a particularly significant moment in Conroy’s acting career. He had landed a recurring role as Padre Terry, an American Catholic priest, in Netflix’s The Gringo Hunters, and reportedly had additional projects in development before the collision interrupted his career.

Months after the crash, there was also a development in the investigation. On August 26, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers arrested 19-year-old Noor El Deen Amr Soror, an Anaheim resident, in connection with the collision. He was charged with felony reckless driving causing major injuries. The charge is an allegation, and Soror has not been convicted.

Conroy continues to face a lengthy recovery, with his family reportedly expecting rehabilitation to take years. Despite the uncertainty, he has expressed hope of eventually returning to acting.

His experience has also changed the way he views life. In posts documenting his recovery, Conroy encouraged people not to take anything for granted and credited friends and family with helping him through one of the most difficult periods of his life.
