Second Man Arrested in Joanne Sheen Murder Investigation After Remains Found in Feltham
FELTHAM, London — September 20, 2026

Police investigating the death of missing mother-of-three Joanne Sheen have arrested a second man after her remains were discovered in woodland in southwest London.

Sheen, 44, disappeared in December 2019 while travelling from Fareham, Hampshire, toward Southampton. Her remains were discovered in Feltham in August, following a wildfire that affected the area. DNA testing later confirmed her identity.

Second Arrest in Murder Investigation
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said a 56-year-old man from Southampton was re-arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and was additionally arrested on suspicion of murder.

A second 56-year-old man from Southampton was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Both men were detained on September 17 and have since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Police have not released the identities of either man.

Remains Found After Wildfire
Human remains were found near Padstow Walk in Feltham on August 12 after a member of the public reported discovering bones in shrubland.

The area had been affected by a wildfire days earlier. Investigators initially believed the remains belonged to a woman aged between 25 and 45 before forensic examination and DNA testing identified them as Sheen.

Her death is being treated as murder.

Years-Long Investigation
Sheen was last seen on December 5, 2019, and was reported missing by her family in February 2020.

Police said the investigation has generated more than 4,000 lines of enquiry and involved more than 300 statements, searches at more than 10 addresses and searches of waterways and woodland around Southampton.

Crimestoppers has also reinstated a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for Sheen’s murder.

Detectives continue to investigate how Sheen came to be in Feltham and what happened to her before her death.
