Singapore TPE Accident: Nine Taken to Hospital After Motorcycle Fire in Multi-Vehicle Crash
MOTORCYCLE BURSTS INTO FLAMES AFTER MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH IN SINGAPORE — NINE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

A morning commute in Singapore took a frightening turn on October 7 when a multi-vehicle crash on the Tampines Expressway (TPE) left a motorcycle engulfed in flames and nine people needing hospital treatment.
The collision involved a car, a lorry and two motorcycles on the TPE heading towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), near the Punggol Road exit. Emergency services were alerted at around 6:50 a.m., just before the morning rush hour.
According to reports, a 40-year-old lorry driver, six passengers travelling in the lorry and two motorcyclists were taken to hospital while conscious. Another person was assessed for minor injuries but declined hospital transport.
In a remarkable response, members of the public used fire extinguishers to put out the motorcycle fire before Singapore Civil Defence Force personnel arrived.
The crash also caused heavy traffic congestion, with authorities advising motorists to avoid certain lanes as emergency crews responded.
Police said the lorry driver and a 55-year-old car driver were assisting with investigations. The cause of the collision has not been confirmed.
The incident is a reminder of how quickly conditions on a busy expressway can change — and how important it is for drivers to remain alert and give emergency responders room to work.
