Team Europe Wins Sixth Laver Cup Title After Alexander Zverev Seals Victory

Team Europe won the Laver Cup for the sixth time after Alexander Zverev defeated Learner Tien in straight sets at London’s O2 Arena on Sunday.

Zverev’s 7-6(3), 6-3 victory gave Team Europe an unassailable 13-5 lead over Team World and secured the trophy in front of a packed crowd.

Zverev Delivers the Decisive Point

The German world No. 2 entered the final match with Team Europe needing just one more victory to claim the title.

Zverev stayed composed during a competitive opening set, winning the tiebreak 7-3 before breaking away from Tien in the second set.

The victory marked the fourth time Zverev has secured the winning point for Team Europe at the Laver Cup. He previously clinched the title for Europe in Chicago in 2018, Geneva in 2019 and Boston in 2021.

Europe Builds Its Lead

Before Zverev’s match, Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik defeated Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-3 in doubles.

The result moved Team Europe to a 10-5 lead and left the team one victory away from reclaiming the trophy.

Sunday’s matches were worth three points each, meaning the first team to reach 13 points would be crowned champion.

A Record-Extending Sixth Title

The victory gave Team Europe its sixth Laver Cup championship since the event began in 2017.

Europe had previously won the tournament in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2024. Team World won the competition in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

The annual event brings together leading tennis players from Europe and the rest of the world in a team competition inspired by golf’s Ryder Cup.

Next Edition Heads to California

The 2027 Laver Cup will be held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. It will mark the tournament’s 10th edition.

For Team Europe, the London victory adds another title to a tournament in which the continent has remained a dominant force since its creation.
